New Beginnings, Expanding Vision

The Easthampton Public Library is at a pivotal moment in its history.

The existing library has served the city superbly for over 100 years, but the building can no longer adequately meet the current needs of a city of 16,000 people. Easthampton deserves a fully-accessible library with space for events, meetings and classes.

Thanks to the generosity of bank ESB, we have a once in a generation opportunity to expand library operations into a new space, the 52 Main Street Annex, and to envision moving library operations fully into a renovated new space. An initial renovation of the building, completed in March 2025, has enabled us to use it as a meeting and gathering space and to triple programming capacity. Now we are beginning the process of raising capital and planning to fully realize our larger dreams. Each step of this move will take work, planning, and, yes, funds!
