The purpose of the Public Library Association of Easthampton (PLAE) is the maintenance of our library. The PLAE is an independent, nonprofit, educational institution. Its mission is to help meet the informational, research, educational, and recreational needs of the City of Easthampton and surrounding communities through its collections, services, exhibits, and programs. The Board guides the overall direction of the Association, while the library’s director and staff operate the day-to-day and long-term activities of the library.
The Board consists of 10-15 members, serving 3-year terms.
Two members are appointed by the City of Easthampton, while remaining members are elected by a two-thirds vote of existing Board members.
